This part of IEC 61156 describes cables intended to be used for transmission of 1 Gbit/s over a single twisted pair for office, home and industrial application. An example of existing application is 1000BASE-T1, see ISO/IEC TR 11801-9906[1]. The transmission characteristics of these cables are specified up to a frequency of 600 MHz and at a temperature of 20°C. The cable type recognised is intended to be used for the work area wiring of shielded channels with a nominal length of 40 m. Possible designs are U/FTP, X/UTP and X/FTP, where X stands for F, S or SF.

These cables may comprise more than one pair in case several systems are operated in parallel. In this case, refer to clause 7 of this document.

The cables covered by this International Standard are intended to operate with voltages and currents normally encountered in communication systems. While these cables are not intended to be used in conjunction with low impedance sources, e.g. the electric power supplies of public utility mains, they are intended to be used to support the delivery of low voltage remote powering applications.

This part of IEC 63211 defines common procedures of mechanical test methods on the durability of the surface of displays. This document generally describes the test equipment and procedures used for each method when applied on all levels from parts (i.e. outermost surface parts of products, display panels and modules) to final products (i.e. finished displays or products).

This standard covers shielded and unshielded free and fixed connector, circular or rectangular, for balanced single-pair data transmission, with current-carrying capacity.

It specifies the IEC 63171 standard series common dimensions, mechanical, electrical and transmission characteristics and environmental requirements as well as required test specifications.

Within their own type, the shielded and unshielded connector are interoperable for their internal transmission performance and can be exchanged; the shielded version has improved EMC and coupling properties.

This document applies to the family of fibre optic filters. These components have all of the following general features:

they are passive for the reason that they contain no optoelectronic or other transducing elements which can process the optical signal launched into the input port;

they modify the spectral intensity distribution in order to select some wavelengths and inhibit others;

they are fixed, i.e. the modification of the spectral intensity distribution is fixed and cannot be tuned;

they have input and output ports or a common port (having both functions of input and output) for the transmission of optical power; the ports are optical fibre or optical fibre connectors;

they differ according to their characteristics. They can be divided into the following categories:

short-wave pass (only wavelengths lower than or equal to a specified value are passed);

long-wave pass (only wavelengths greater than or equal to a specified value are passed);

band-pass (only an optical window is allowed);

notch (only an optical window is inhibited);

gain flattening (compensating the spectral profile of the device).

It is also possible to have a combination of the above categories.
