This document applies also to car seats complying with UN R44 or UN R129 that can be used as reclined cradles according to manufacturer’s instructions.

This document does not apply to reclined cradles when used as swings.

If a reclined cradle has several functions or can be converted into another function the relevant European standards apply to it (see Annex B).

This document applies in conjunction with and in addition to prEN 12790‑1:2019 and it cannot be used separately.

This document specifies the test procedures of electronic fee collection (EFC) roadside equipment (RSE) and on-board equipment (OBE) with regard to the conformance to standards and requirements for type approval and acceptance testing which is within the realm of EFC application specifically.

The scope of this document is restricted to systems operating within the radio emission, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) regulations, traffic, and other regulations of the countries in which they are operated.

This document identifies a set of suitable parameters and provides test procedures to enable the proof of a complete EFC system, as well as components of an EFC system, e.g. OBE, related to the defined requirements of an application. The defined parameter and tests are assigned to the following groups of parameters:

—    functionality;

—    quality;

—    referenced pre-tests.

An overview of the tests and parameters provided by this document is given in 5.1 and 5.2.

This document describes procedures, methods and tools, and a test plan which shows the relation between all tests and the sequence of these tests. It lists all tests that are required to measure the performance of EFC equipment. It describes which EFC equipment is covered by the test procedures; the values of the parameters to be tested are not included. It also describes how the tests are to be performed and which tools and prerequisites are necessary before this series of tests can be undertaken. It is assumed that the security of the system is inherent in the communications and EFC functionality tests, therefore they are not addressed here. All tests in this document provide instructions to evaluate the test results.

The test procedures can be used for prototype testing, type approvals, test of installations, and periodic inspections. Thus this document defines only the test and test procedures, not the benchmark figures that these are to be measured against.

Related to a conceptual model of an EFC system, this document relates only to the equipment of the user and the service provider as illustrated in Figure 1. Any other entities are outside the scope of document.

This International Standard specifies a method for the determination of the mass per unit area and five methods (Method A to Method E) for the determination of the fibre mass per unit area of moulding compounds and prepregs.

Method A: Extraction by soxhlet

Method B: Extraction by immersion in solvent in a beaker

Method C: Decomposition by loss ignition

Method D: Extraction by wet combustion

Method E: Method by calculation

This International Standard is applicable to the following types of material:

—    moulding compound and preimpregnated unidirectional sheet, tape, fabric and mats.

—    prepregs in which any type of reinforcement (aramid, carbon, glass, etc.) and any type of matrix (thermosetting or thermoplastic) has been used.

Typically, reinforcement fibres are coated with sizing or finishes. These normally dissolve with the resin and are, therefore, included in the resin content.

This International Standard is not applicable to the following types of prepregs:

—    these containing reinforcements which are soluble (or partly soluble) in the solvents used to dissolve the resin.

This document provides guidelines to enable testing laboratory using rapid test methods on all types of water samples that may be contaminated following a nuclear or radiological emergency situation:

—    taking into account the specific context for the tests to be performed, e.g. an unknown and potentially unusual high level of contamination;

—    using or adjusting, when possible, radioactivity test method implemented during routine situation to obtain a result rapidly or applying specific rapid test methods previously validated by the laboratory, e.g. for 89Sr determination;

—    preparing the test laboratory to measure a large number of potentially contaminated samples.

The aim of this document is to ensure decision makers have reliable results needed to take actions on time and minimize the dose to the public.

Measurements are performed in order to minimize the risk for the public in checking the water quality of water supplies. For emergency situations, test results are compared to operational intervention levels.

Note:            Operational intervention levels (OILs) are derived from IAEA Safety Standards[13] or national authorities[5].

A key can be to use the usual and routine methods in a faster manner. The goal of these rapid measurements is often to check an unusual radioactivity level in the test sample, to identify the radionuclides and their activity concentration levels and to establish compliance of the sampled water with intervention levels[21]. It should be noted that in such circumstances validation parameters are not always valid (impossible use of standard measuring geometries for gamma spectrometry…) and thus uncertainties associated with the test results may increase.

The first steps of the analytical approach is usually based on gross alpha and gross beta test methods considered as screening methods (adaptation of ISO 10704 and ISO 11704) and gamma spectrometry (adaptation of ISO 20042, ISO 10703 and ISO 19581). Then, when necessary[3], test method standards for specific radionuclides are adapted and applied (for example, 90Sr measurement following ISO 13160) as proposed in Annex A.

This document refers to a set of already published ISO standards. When appropriate, this document also refers to national standards or other publically available documents.

Screening techniques that can be carried out directly in the field are not part of this document.

This part of ISO 12945 describes a method for the determination of the resistance to pilling, fuzzing, and matting of textile fabrics using the random tumble pilling tester. This method is applicable to most of woven and knitted fabrics, including napped fabrics (fleeces, inlay fabrics).

This method is not applicable to fabrics which cannot tumble freely.

This document specifies the dimensions, the method of sampling, the preparation of the test specimens and the conditions for performing the tensile test in order to determine the short-term tensile welding factor.

A tensile test may be used in conjunction with other tests (e.g. bend, tensile creep, macro) to assess the performance of welded assemblies, made from thermoplastics materials.

The test is applicable to welded assemblies made from thermoplastics materials filled or unfilled, but not reinforced, irrespective of the welding process used.

This document provides the requirements for the tests made on welded thermoplastics semi-finished products.

The selection of the appropriate test method(s) should be made in accordance with the particular type and application of welded product.

The test results depend on the conditions of manufacture for the test specimen and on the test conditions. They can therefore only be related to the behaviour of the product or can only be used for designing a structure, if the test conditions can be related to the service conditions.

Specifically, this document specifies test methods and test conditions for measuring the durability of a DUT under temperature and humidity conditions and applied voltages. It further applies to evaluations of direct piezoelectric properties in piezoelectric thin films formed primarily on silicon substrates, i.e., piezoelectric thin films used like as acoustic sensor, cantilever type sensor.

This document does not cover reliability assessments, such as methods of predicting the lifetime of a piezoelectric thin film based on a Weibull distribution.
