This International Standard specifies primary and secondary dimensions for specified types of garments to be used in combination with ISO 8559-1.

The primary aim of this International Standard is to establish a size designation system that can be used by manufacturers and retailers to indicate to consumers (in a simple, direct and meaningful manner) the body dimensions of the person that the garment is intended to fit. Provided that the size of the person's body (as indicated by the specified dimensions) has been determined in accordance with ISO 8559-1, this designation system will facilitate the choice of garments that fit. This information can be indicated by labelling, etc.

The size designation system is based on body measurements, not garment measurements. The choice of garment measurements is normally determined by the designer and the manufacturer who make appropriate allowances to accommodate the type and position of wear, style, cut and fashion elements of the garment.

This document specifies test procedures for the acquisition and presentation of multipoint data which demonstrate the behaviour of plastics under the following environments:

—    prolonged exposure to heat;

—    liquid chemicals;

—    environmental stress cracking under a constant tensile stress;

—    artificial weathering.

The tests are listed in order of increasing severity of the environment. By testing under the least severe environments first, it is possible to make informed judgements regarding whether tests under more severe conditions are worthwhile.

This document describes a method for the determination of the boiling range distribution of petroleum products by capillary gas chromatography using flame ionization detection. This document is applicable to stabilized crude oils and for the boiling range distribution and the recovery up to and including n-nonane. A stabilized crude oil is defined as having a Reid Vapour Pressure equivalent to or less than 82,7 kPa as determined by IP 481 [3].

Annex C describes an algorithm for merging the boiling point distribution results obtained using this method with the results obtained with EN 15199‑3. This will result in a boiling range distribution and recovery up to C120.

NOTE 1       There is no specific precision statement for the combined results obtained after merging the results of EN 15199‑3 and EN 15199‑4, For the precision of the boiling range distribution up to n-nonane, the precision statement of EN 15199‑4 applies. For the precision of the boiling range distribution from n-nonane through C120, the precision of EN 15199‑3 applies.

NOTE 2       For the purposes of this European Standard, the terms “% (m/m)” and “% (V/V)” are used to represent respectively the mass fraction, ω, and the volume fraction, φ.

This part of ISO 1043 provides uniform symbols for flame retardants added to plastics materials. The symbols are written with the abbreviated term “FR” and one or more succeeding code numbers as given in Clause 5. They are used in addition to the symbols for the plastics materials, for plastics material designation and for identification and marking of plastics products.

This method allows for the determination of water sorption in a laboratory setting and provides a measure for how the durability is impacted as a result of immersion in water. Post-immersion durability reduction is calculated as the difference between the durability of the as-received sample and the durability of the wetted product.

A post-immersion durability reduction of 0 means there was no change to the durability of the thermally treated pelletized fuel as a result of wetting, whereas a post-immersion durability reduction of 3 indicate that the durability dropped by three percentage points as a result of wetting.

This document specifies a test method for determining the resistance to slow crack growth of polyolefin pipes, expressed in terms of time to failure in a hydrostatic pressure test on a pipe with machined longitudinal notches in the outside surface. The test is applicable to pipes of wall thickness greater than 5 mm.

This document specifies testing procedures for the instrumental determination of brightness and colour of tissue paper and tissue products viewed under outdoor daylight conditions. It also gives specific instructions for the preparation of test pieces (single-ply, multi-ply products) and for the optical measurements of products, where special precautions may be necessary.

NOTE       The properties called ISO brightness and colour with C/2° (indoor daylight) are measured with an instrument adjusted to a much lower UV content than that specified in this document. The measurements of ISO brightness and colour with C/2° (indoor daylight) are described in ISO 12625-15.

This document specifies the procedure for a determination of major and minor element concentrations in solid recovered fuel material by energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) spectrometry or wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence (WDXRF) spectrometry using a calibration with solid recovered fuel reference materials or solid recovered fuel samples with known content. A semi-quantitative determination may be carried out using matrix independent standards.

X-ray fluorescence spectrometry may be used as a fast method for a qualitative overview of elements and impurities and after suitable calibration it is very useful for determining major elements or even minor elements (except Hg) in order to quickly identify increased concentrations of minor elements in solid recovered fuels (e.g. during SRF-production).

This document is applicable for the following elements: Na, Mg, Al, Si, P, S, Cl, K, Ca, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Br, Mo, Cd, Sb, Sn, Tl and Pb. Concentrations from approximately 0,000 1 % and above can be determined depending on the element, the calibration materials used and the instrument used.
