This document specifies a procedure for the determination of dry residue in ethanol by gravimetric (desiccation) method in the range (10 to 25) mg/100 ml.

NOTE          In an interlaboratory study [2] the method described has been tested at levels down to 3,5 mg/100 ml, but the precision appeared to be insufficient at such low levels.

This document describes requirements and test methods for paraffinic diesel fuel marketed and delivered as such, containing a level of up to 7,0 % (V/V) fatty acid methyl ester (FAME). It is applicable to fuel for use in diesel engines and vehicles compatible with paraffinic diesel fuel. It defines two classes of paraffinic diesel fuel: high cetane and normal cetane.

Paraffinic diesel fuel originates from synthesis or hydrotreatment processes.

NOTE 1 For general diesel engine warranty, the vehicle manufacturer needs to be consulted before use. Paraffinic automotive diesel fuel may need a validation step to confirm the compatibility of the fuel with the vehicle, which for some existing engines may still need to be done (see also the Introduction to this document). However, it is noted that paraffinic diesel fuel is extensively available and has been increasingly approved for usage in vehicles since the first publication of this document

NOTE 2       For the purposes of this document, the terms “% (m/m)” and “% (V/V)” are used to represent respectively the mass fraction and the volume fraction.

This document gives guidance on the selection of wood of wood and wood based products for use in situations where they may be subject to degradation by fungi or wood destroying insects. This guidance includes information on factors that can influence the service life of a wood or wood-based product when considering biological degradation. This document is a step toward the evaluation of the service life of a wood product.

This document does not consider:

1)    the durability characteristics of the glue used in wood-based products;

2)    the aesthetic function of wood products (discoloration, surface weathering, mould).

This document specifies a method for the determination of the dynamic viscosity of bituminous binders by means of a vacuum capillary viscometer at 60 °C in a range between 0,003 6 Pa⋅s and 580 000 Pa⋅s. Other temperatures are possible if calibration constants are known. Bituminous emulsions and non-newtonian binders (e.g. some polymer modified bitumen) are not within the scope of this method.

This document specifies the requirements for solid-wall pipes and fittings with or without internal and/or external skin, and the system of piping systems made from mineral modified polypropylene materials (PP-MD) in the field of non-pressure underground drainage and sewerage outside the building structure (application area code "U"), and non-pressure underground drainage and sewerage for both buried in ground within the building structure (application area code "D") and outside the building structure.

NOTE 1       The skins are made of PP compound without mineral modifier.

This is reflected in the marking of products by "U" and "UD".

It also specifies the test parameters for the test methods referred to in this document.

This document covers a range of nominal sizes, a range of pipe series/stiffness classes and gives recommendations concerning colours.

NOTE 2       It is the responsibility of the purchaser or specifier to make the appropriate selection from these aspects, taking into account their particular requirements and any relevant national regulations and installation practices or codes.

In conjunction with Part 2 of EN 14758 (see Foreword) it is applicable to PP-MD pipes and fittings, their elastomeric sealing ring joints and to joints with components of other plastics and non-plastics materials intended to be used for buried piping systems for non-pressure underground drainage and sewerage.

This document is applicable to PP-MD pipes with or without an integral socket.

NOTE 3       The fittings can be manufactured by injection-moulding or be fabricated from pipes and/or mouldings.

NOTE 4       Requirements and limiting values for application area code “D” are given in Table 4, Table 7 and Table 13.

NOTE 5       Pipes, fittings and other components conforming to any of the plastics product standards listed in Annex B can be used with pipes and fittings conforming to this document, when they conform to the requirements for joint dimensions given in Clause 6 and to the requirements of Table 13.

This document specifies a method for the determination of the kinematic viscosity of bituminous binders at 60 °C and 135 °C, in a range from 6 mm2/s to 300 000 mm2/s. Other temperatures are possible if calibration constants are known. Bituminous emulsions are not covered within the scope of this method.

Results for this method can be used to calculate dynamic viscosity when the density of the test material is known or can be determined.

This document specifies a column switching gas chromatographic method for the quantitative determination of benzene content in the range 0,05 % (V/V) to 6 % (V/V) in unleaded petrol having a final boiling point not greater than 220 °C.

The method described in this document is suitable for determining benzene in petrol, including petrol containing oxygenates up to E10 (up to 3,7 % (m/m) oxygen content), in line with the relevant EC Directives [3].

This document specifies a laboratory method for the determination of the distillation characteristics of light and middle distillates derived from petroleum and related products of synthetic or biological origin with initial boiling points above 20 °C and end-points below approximately 400 °C, at atmospheric pressure utilizing an automatic micro distillation apparatus.

This test method is applicable to such products as light and middle distillates, automotive spark-ignition engine fuels, automotive spark-ignition engine fuels containing up to 20 % (V/V) ethanol, aviation gasolines, aviation turbine fuels, (paraffinic) diesel fuels, FAME (B100), diesel blends up to 30 % (V/V) fatty acid methyl esters (FAME), special petroleum spirits, naphtha’s, white spirits, kerosene’s, burner fuels, and marine fuels.

The test method is also applicable to hydrocarbons with a narrow boiling range, like organic solvents or oxygenated compounds.

The test method is designed for the analysis of distillate products; it is not applicable to products containing appreciable quantities of residual material.
